Synopsis: After the Pandemic

A virus wipes out most of humanity. A man finds himself leading a small group of survivors in their quest to survive and repopulate the world.

Excerpt: After the Pandemic

He looked at her standing there in the reflected glow of the florescent type lantern. She stood about 5 and a half feet and wasn’t one of those rail skinny teenagers, she had a solid frame while retaining a good figure. Her shoulder length hair was slightly curly, fluffed out from the recent washing and air drying. She was still brushing it out, wearing a flannel nightgown that moved sensuously up and down her body in the reflected light as her arms moved up and down the length of her auburn hair.

He gulped and shook his head clear and looked down at the map, desperately trying to drive the thoughts he was having out of his mind. She was half his age.

It took him a while to get used to the constant contact he was getting. The girls seemed to want as much contact as they could get. Not anything sexual so much as just the contact with another human. He talked with Susan about it. She just looked at him. “Come on, think about it. You’ve become the father figure to two dozen girls and a number of women. Mike’s got his own harem. They are seeking your approval and even your love, fatherly love, most of them, though there are a few that seem to not want to call it off there.”

“Oh please, I’m two, almost three times their ages. You on the other hand I could understand. But surely they aren’t looking at me that way!”

“Ah, well, there are several that worship you. I, like almost everyone else in our age group are thinking you look pretty darn good. And even those two cougars out there look at you in a way that would make you blush. I’d think you’d have realized that by this time. In fact, you tell me who the little ones are. You know who they are.”

“Hmmm, well, not Corrine, but I’ll bet her sister is one of them.”

“Oh, yeah. Olivia looks at you with those big moon eyes of hers. See, you aren’t as slow as you think you are.”

“Maybe, but every time I see her I think we’ve got to find an ortho office, fire up the equipment and zap light those braces off of her. And the others that are wearing them. I’m not going to play dentist, but those things have to come off before they do more damage than good.”

“You’re avoiding the issue, focus.” She was clearly teasing him now.

“Okay, I’d say Shannon, but I really think that’s more wanting to feel like a little girl then puppy love.”

“Good, I agree with you on that. There are a number of others that are the same way. Corinne and Monica would do anything for your approval.”

“How about Rebecca and Carolyn. They seem to be giggling a lot after I talk with them. I think they’ve got some kind of thing going.”

“Good. Come on, there are three more of the young ladies out there that would love to trade place with me right now.”

“Don’t want to hazard a guess at this point.”

“Well, at least one of them I think you’ve got a thing for. I’ve seen the way you look at her. And I don’t think that one is vary far fetched. There are some things you don’t know.”

“What are you talking about? I’m not going to pair up with any of those girls!”

“You say that now, I’d lay money on something else happening.”
