Excerpt: Tale of the Non-Believers

The moon would rise soon, she thought. Empress stepped into the center of the Summoning Hall, taking a deep breath for what was to come. She hated using the creatures, she felt sorry for them, however disgusted by them she may be. She putted from the front of her dress a locket and held it in the palm of her hand. She waved her other hand over top, making the locket glow.

The silver top of the full moon peaked then rose into the exact center of the Summoning Hall's open ceiling. Empress raised the arm that cradled the locket until she could raise it no more. When she withdrew, the crescent shaped locket floated by itself without the aid of her hand, resisting gravity.
