Brief Author Bio:

I have been writing ever since I can remember. At the age of ten I wrote a lot of stories that I never finished. It wasn't until I was 12 did I really begin to write seriously. I co-wrote a story with my friend, for a few years, but I never finished it. This year for NaNoWriMo I am actually taking the basic ideas I wrote when I was 12 and am writing this novel. This is my first year of NaNoWriMo and I am very exited about it.

Synopsis: Betrayal and Fealty

Trista is a young Eternethian maiden on her way back to her her homeland of Eternethia. For two years she has been in Hanaskea, captured by the Hanaskean Rangers, and has been living as little more than a slave to her captures. But the time was changing, Eternethia and Hanaskea have made peace, and she is let free. Slowly she makes her way back to her distant country, until winter sets in. She is forced to stop, and wait the winter out at a nearby Hanaskean families house.

Another family, another Hanskean. Trista struggles to trust Kelton, the young man the son of the widow who lives in the Hanaskean cottage. She vows she will never trust another young man besides her brother, who had died defending her before she was taken.

Now as winter snow sets in, and she is forced to stay put in the cottage, instance after instance force their way upon her, she begins to discover that maybe Kelton and the other Hanaskeans aren't as cruel as she had first thought.

But as plots against the soon-to-be king Rean-Hammon and his soon-to-be queen, Amaye, things rapidly spin in a ever winding down vortex of destruction and despair. Two words: Betrayal and Fealty now remain for all men to choose.

Excerpt: Betrayal and Fealty

Athelstan's eyes flew open when he found a sword point sticking right at his throat. He didn't move as he looked up to see who the barer of the blade was. It was a young Andswaren ranger looking quizically down at him. One of Ethelbert's men for sure. But as Athelstan looked closely at the young man, something very familiar stood out among his features.

"Don't move," the stranger said without raising the weapon from Athelstan's throat. "I know who you are, I know you are that ranger, the captian of the Andswaren Rangers, I believe you were at one time."

Athelstan was silent for a moment, wondering who in the world the young man could be. He was younger than himself, a good two years younger at least. He looked to be about seventeen.

"Aye," Athelstan paused. "At one time I was."

The young man took the blade and with the point, lifted Athelstan's hood, and tossed it off. Now he could see Athelstan's full face. "Aye, I have long been waiting for this day," the stranger spoke.

"Who are you?" Athelstan was racking his brain, trying to think when he would have ever seen the young man.

"The son of one whom you know well, who wants revenge upon my father's death!" The boy cried out in a bitter tone.

Athelstan took in a deep breath, as he suddenly knew who it was that faced him. The son of Raye looked down at him, Raye's son had him at sword point.

Just at that moment, more footsteps sounded about the clearing. A few other rangers walked up towards them.

"Hold it!" one of them cried. "That is Athelstan you have there!"

"Aye!" Raye's son spoke.

"Well," said the ranger. "He needs to be taken to the Captain, you are not to harm him! By Captain Ethelbert's own orders!"

The boy glared angrily upon the intrusion, and after a long heasitation, sheathed his sword. "You got away once," he said in a low voice so the other rangers couldn't hear, only Athelstan. "But next time I am going to kill you! You will learn to fear Raedan!"
