I'm Jocelyn Dubreuil, 13 from Toronto, and I write under the pen name Victoria Black. I have been published previously and have both a second poem and a short story that are being submitted into a contest, hopefully they will be published too! I REALLY hope that I succeed in my first year of Nano, and if I don't, I'll try again next year! I hope to get whatever novel I write published as well. Wish me luck! |

Synopsis: The Doll Maker
Lindsay had always known that something was wrong with her ninth grade science teacher. Lindsay soon has to face that her life is no longer normal and that the paranormal is realer than she thinks.
Excerpt: The Doll Maker
We hadn’t even realized that Mr Wright, our science teacher, had come up behind me and was glaring down on our giggling group. Only when Nicole look up and look terrified did we fall silent. I didn’t even turn around in my seat, because I had no desire to smell the foul breath I could feel on the back of my neck. Just thinking about the old, grey-haired, cranky man was scary enough.
“Having fun, girls?”
“Yessir,” Kimberly answered honestly, the only one of us who could manage to not look terrified around him. I knew that this was onl because Mr Wright was Kimberly Wright’s uncle. How she dealt with him on holidays was something I couldn’t even imagine. I shuddered as he spoke again, hot breath making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up straight.
