Synopsis: The Ley of the Land

Amadea Selldon has just moved to the magically powered city of Twonsey and her days are filled with running her charm shop, listening to town gossip, and taking care of her young son. Oh, and negotiating business contracts in the local criminal underworld for information about taboo magical subjects.

Her criminal liaison is Riely Devlin, a teenage thief trying way too hard to fit into his role. By the time he realizes that she's looking for something specific, her single-mindedness is putting them all at risk of being caught. Especially when magi, the government's law enforcement, show up holding a grudge against her!

When the heat gets to be a little too much, the criminal group decides to cut ties with Amadea, the best way they know how – permanently. Not that Amadea is just going to take that, but she finds herself facing opponents who find strengths in what she considers weaknesses, throwing off her edge.

When assassins and werewolves and kidnappers are called to take her out, Amadea has to take off the gloves, drawing on a power that is potentially more dangerous than those trying to kill her.
