About Ardenna Ouvrard

Location: Oklahoma City

Home Region:
United States :: Oklahoma :: Elsewhere

Age:19

Favorite novels: Anything by Jane Austen, Gregory Maguire, or Stephenie Meyer/The Harry Potter series/Gone With the Wind/Jane Eyre

Favorite writers: The Bronte sisters, Jane Austen, Edgar Allen Poe, Stephenie Meyer, J.R.R. Tolkein, J.K. Rowling, Gaston Leroux, Gregory Maguire, and Chuck Palahnuik

Favorite music: Umm...depends on the genre. If I'm writing a romance, I play a lot of Disney songs and indie music, but if I'm writing a horror/suspense piece, I play a lot of alternative rock and the Broadway sountrack to "Jekyll and Hyde." Then I throw in random songs from Broadway soundtracks that match each individual character...my playlists are all over the place.

Non-noveling interests: My passion in life is musical theatre. I'm currently planning to obtain a degree in musical theatre from Oklahoma City University...if I can get my basics out of the way. I also love to paint and do graphic design (though I'm not very good at either.) I pretty much enjoy anything that keeps my hands busy.

Brief Author Bio:

My name is Erica and I live in Oklahoma City. My writing career has been relatively short-lived thus far, since I've only been writing little bits of fanfiction here and there since 2003. I've been an author on Fanfiction.net since 2004, with a 'brief' hiatus lasting from early 2005 until June 2007. Ever since, I've been revamping my previous fanfiction works and begun work on three new original fiction projects. My ultimate goal is become a decent enough writer to be kindly rejected from a publishing company.

All of my fanfiction works can be found at Fanfiction.net under the name Ardenna Ouvrard.

Synopsis: Last One Today

Charlie Tariccone sees things. Witnesses things, really. No one believes him and some have even gone as far as to call him a liar. He was content to bear the accusations of lying an making up stories, until he and his friends Ella and Paulie happen by an abandoned car in an isolated corner of a park, covered in blood...the corpse of a man hanging above the hood and the body of a girl with a hook in her throat draped over the front seat of the car.

Charlie, Ella, and Paulie unwittingly find themselves in the center of a blood churning murder mystery, involving dead roommates, killers lurking in cars, and strange stalkers calling young babysitters from the room upstairs. Involvement by association can only go far in Charlie's and his friends' case...because now they're targets.

Based on popular urban legends.

Excerpt: Last One Today

Because of the doubt, I learned to keep my mouth shut, even when my over - trustworthy uncle picked up an old woman hitch-hiking and asked the lady to help change a tire, only to discover that standing at her full height, she was extremely burly. Uncle panicked and drove off once the tire was chang. Once he was safe at home, he emptied out his car and found an axe in the old lady’s purse, which he’d forgotten was in the floorboard. He disregarded the breaking news reports about the escaped axe murderer, shrugging off his abandoned passenger as a cross-dressing lumberjack.

I learned to keep my mouth shut even when this guy I went to school with took a rub on tattoo from a grizzly looking stranger and suffered from severe hallucinations several minutes after applying it. After he went to the hospital, his mommy told the teacher that he had a rare neurological disorder which, I noticed, he’d never had before. A year later, he was fine. Not so much a brain disease as an LSD trip.

Then there was the razor in the candy apple that Halloween. The blood covered woman in the bathroom mirror. The lady down the street who died in a tanning booth….
