Favorite writers: Margaret Atwood, William Goldman, Neil Gaiman, T.S. Eliot (heart!), Douglas Adams, Michael Chabon - I also have to admit I have a bit of a love of JK Rowling (more of her story and setting than prose style) and Lemony Snicket (more of the prose style and tone than plot - I thought it weakened at the very end; just my opinion) Favorite music: Vaughn Williams, Elton John, E.S. Posthumus, Enya, and film scores (Gosford Park, Snow Falling on Cedars, American Beauty) are quite nice (Elfman, Zimmer, Brion, Hermann, Newman, Newman) Non-noveling interests: Writing movies, reading, reading about movies, watching movies, studying movies, reading about people who watch movies (I have an academic interest in fan cultures), reading about writing movies, or reading about people who make movies, film history, cinematic theory - any of these can be considered school work, as well (doing what I love - makes sense=); I'm in an MFA program in Screenwriting as well as a graduate level screenwriting program at another school, which is where my real interest is, but noveling rocks, too=) I'm also really into religion (and not just my own). |

Synopsis: The Suitable Marriage of Agatha Moore
At the turn of the 19th Century, Agatha Moore falls in love with a man above her station, but neither know if they'll be able to maintain their love in the face of their biggest opponents: their own families.
Excerpt: The Suitable Marriage of Agatha Moore
The crisp air clung to Agatha's shoulders like a stole, and she wished instead of air she'd brought something to protect her from the unseasonably chilly August. Briskly she crossed the front area of Bridgeton Hall, noting the pebbles that were out of place. Her long dress fluttered in her wind, almost tripping her as it met her ankles at each step. She rounded the corner, almost knocking over Finn, whose service to the estate was to trim hedges and keep trees looking tidy.
"Late again, Miss Agatha?"
"Eternally, I'm afraid."
Agatha maintained her pace, but Finn called after her.
"Tardiness is... the... thing... that-" but Agatha was up the front stairs before Finn could think of a clever thing to say.
If the exterior was perfect, than Agatha could think of no words to describe the magnificent interiors of Bridgeton Hall.
