Nightglass

Life is always a bit darker than all the adults think to tell you. The little white lies, the quiet explanations of storks and babies, only looks and pauses when certain subjects are broached. The world seems so clean and inviting to a child's eyes, the dark depths hidden behind a wealth of pretty words.

But it's when we look beyond the vagueness, look beyond the sun, that everything becomes darker, dimmer. There is still light in the world, but shadows drive it away like birds after prey. It is there when we look into the mirror, peer into our own eyes, and see the shadows within ourselves.

These shadows- our darkest thoughts, our hidden desires- all welcome us into a world beyond conscious knowledge. They welcome us to Nightglass.
