Synopsis: Never F&%$ With a Knitter
Here's my summary: Kay and Nate are best friends, in high school. It eventually comes out that Nate is gay, and some of the guys on the football team give him a beating bad enough to send him to the hospital. When the girls in the knitting club (who have adopted Nate as one of their own) find out who is responsible for hurting Nate, they start a quiet but deadly campaign of vengeance on Nate's behalf, and the boys at St. Gregor's learn that you should never f7%$ with a knitter.

That one corner of the roof, protected by the chimney from the wind and the sun, was the perfect place to hide out and smoke. Anyone who really wanted to find them knew that they had to walk around behind the structure to make sure that they weren't there. Most of the time, no one wanted to find them that badly, so they were left to smoke in peace, in that quiet, shadowy corner.
“I can't believe you're still smoking,” Kay laughed, and she blew twin plumes out of her nostrils. “Aren't athletes supposed to be all about their bodies and treating them like a temple, or something?”
“Hey, I'll quit when you quit,” said Nate. “You're the vegan, Buddhist girl, so you should probably care a lot more than I do.”
He had her on that one.
“Well, it's all still kind of new. I'm trying to give myself time to let go of the old habits. And I'm not a Vegan, I'm just a garden variety vegetarian.”
