Brief Author Bio: I first heard about NaNo when I was 13 and Googling things like 'writing prompts' and 'how to write a novel in 30 days.' I was living overseas at the time and tried to explain to my Italian teachers and cohorts the whole idea of writing a novel at my age, but soon I gave up and just went for it. For the next few years until I left for college, November simply became known as 'Hell Month' in my home. Relatives knew to stay away from me when I was curled up in a corner with a notebook and my parents didn't push me into spending a whole lot of time with family during Thanksgiving (which I took full advantage of). Now, I've developed more of a carefree attitude towards my writing. I figure that if I don't have at least SOME amount of fun while writing, no one else is ever going to enjoy the words that come out of me. I tend to unintentionally become obsessed with my characters and draw some of my biggest inspiration from new music and old movies. |
