In truth, the fact that he could get Vincent excited enough to do such things to him was a heady excitement in its own way. And oh, that Vincent could get him so excited was wonderful as well. It would have been a right disaster if he couldn’t at least have had that in the farce he was playing. For no matter that he failed to feel love for Vincent, lust was an entirely different story.

He looked to Jainic in time to see the slightly disgusted look on the other’s face. “Stop talking like that! Don’t you know how to talk like a normal person or is that speech so shoved into your skull that you couldn’t stop if your life depended on it?”

Rye just stared for a moment and then started laughing. In the end, it felt like ages since he’d laughed like this.

“Oh, sorry. I’ve been talking like that for some time and it sort of stuck.” He paused and then turned to regard Jainic with a look. “Besides, someone who talks to a person that is not visible has no room to talk at all.”

That got a laugh out of Jainic and true enough, he turned to the side again and smiled almost fondly, but addressed Rye all the same. “Ah, but who says that he isn’t visible? It could be that you should be worried that you can’t see him. After all, he’s sitting on the bed right beside us.” The mocking smile graced his face again, mixed with something that Rye couldn’t identify. “Who’s to say whether what I see or you don’t see is the truth? In the end, you’ll only see what you want to see, nothing more nothing less.”
