Brief Author Bio:

[Morgan Gazdik] [M.G. Imperial]

Hellay hellay - my name is Morgan and when I grow up, I want to be an author. And I've been saying it since I was eight years old. ^_^ Writing is my life's passion, but with the ups and downs of life, I haven't been dedicating the necessary time to my one true calling. (I completed my last "novel" when I was seventeen, in the summer of 2002. Yikes! o_O)

I became aware of NaNoWriMo last November, when my best friend and writing collaborator Sarajane Sein (aka "coreycoreycorey") participated for her first time. I was impressed by the concept, and decided to jump in myself, tackling a concept that has been smoldering in my brain for nearly a decade. ^_^ I am hoping that NaNoWriMo will jump-start my creativity, and help me to share the joy of writing with others.

LET'S GO NANOWRIMO!! \m/>_<\m/

Synopsis: The Raven

17-year-old Trent Armitage - known affectionately by his family and friends as Raven - has come to a decision. He only has eight weeks left to live.

Raven - an introverted, aloof poet - has a cancerous brain tumor that is scheduled for removal. The procedure carries the high likelyhood that he will be rendered incapacitated for the remainder of his life. Unsatisfied by this prospect, he resolves to carry on with his young life as usual, then commit suicide days before the surgery.

During these weeks, Raven begins his senior year of high school in the community of North Shore, and his life becomes entangled with four others, all of whom share complex relationships with each other. Emma is an over-achieving student who puts on a constant facade, in order to hide the dysfunction of her family. (Raven is intrigued by her act, and falls for her.) Dace is an undergraduate collegiate, rounding out his degree by returning to his old high school for his student teaching practicum. Overweight and lonely, he struggles with his self-image, but finds comfort when he becomes a mentor for troubled Emma. Brady is a shy, nerdy student who befriends Raven - his life is turned upside down when he is approached by an older woman. Daisy is an alcoholic housewife, too swept up in her fantasy world to offer aid to her struggling daughter Emma. When a cute, vulnerable young man becomes her regular pizza delivery boy, she sees an opportunity to feel alive for the first time in years.

Love, hate, lust, jealousy, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, acceptance... As Raven's time ticks away to its last, his life, and the lives of Brady, Dace, Daisy, and Emma will all be drastically changed. A storm is brewing in North Shore - who will fall, and who will survive?
