Excerpt: A JOURNEY To Somewhere

Once upon a time in the State of Desperation, USA, there lived a young girl. She was named Cinderella Smith and she was distraught and worried because everybody expected too much of her. She had to cook and clean and take care of her 2 brothers and go to school and be a straight A student, except for math. Her father did her math for her. Her mother had died when the baby brother was 2 and he lived sometimes with an aunt but came home on weekends and on holidays. The older brother, Wayne, was a real pain and she even had to teach him to dance and to wash behind his ears and change his socks every day. The baby was cute but a burden because it made her social time a bit short. One day, she thought that there must be some way outta here. She wanted to be an actress, move to New York and star on Broadway. She had a best friend who advised her to seek the help of a tarot reader and fortune teller.
