Synopsis: Risking Arenee

There are two worlds. One, our world, of technology and extreme advancements. Then the other, dul'Vorgnon, of magic and races not unlike our own. But, the other world isn't as wonderful as it may sound. dul'Vorgnon, though it has magic in its blood, is war-torn, a world split in pieces, each one desperately trying to scramble to the top of the shattered existance.

Gwirym can't take it. The war, his sick mother, a life not his own. It's too much responsibility. So he finds a way into our world which, while not looking too different, has its own dangers he could never realize. In his mind, he decides he will return to dul'Vorgnon occasionally to take care of his mother, Bailee.

Raveena, Gwirym's sister, is suddenly heaped with all of Gwirym's abandoned tasks. When he was with Raveena it was hard enough to take care of everything, but now it's nearly impossible. The war is raging ever on, as her weakening shapeshifter clan tries to settle the thousand-years war. Raveena is trying desperately to ally herself with stronger powers before they break apart completely, and she realizes that she has bartered herself to the prince of the Terrapath clan for their strong protection. It's all becoming too much for her, and soon she fears she might come join Gwirym in our world.

Gwirym gets a job in our world at a small contracting company in Alpha City as an accountant. It's a mildly enjoyable job... that is, until he meets Arenee. She's pretty, smart, and does too much for Gwirym to wrap his mind around. But what he doesn't know is that, while he tries to teach Arenee to love him, he is being watched.

Raveena finally cracks. She comes to our world, and unknowingly goes to the same place Gwirym did--Alpha City. Though she knows she has responsibilities back home, and that she will return, she stays long enough the find Arenee and Gwirym together in the park. Her visits to our world become more frequent as she sees Arenee and Gwirym growing together.

Danger lurks around the corner, though. For every time Raveena or Gwirym world-hops, as its called, someone sees them. And as Gwirym's wolf realizes he's being watched, he doesn't, and discovers parts of himself better left undiscovered.

Now Gwirym is putting Arenee's life in jeopardy every time he's with her. And when Arenee is kidnapped and Gwirym and Raveena's magical secrets are her ransom, can the two team up with Arenee's sister Glory, a secretive Aquapath, a sword and their dead mother's last words to save her? Will the mysterious Crying Pyropath, as it is only know, recieve its ransom--or kill Arenee? And can Raveena and Gwirym make it back to dul'Vorgnon in time to save their rapidly-crumbling pack in The Fight To End All Wars?

Excerpt: Risking Arenee

A woman, about twenty-four by Gwirym's guess, leaned over his cubicle wall. She was... pretty. Long blonde-brown hair fell around her face in thick, wavy chunks. Her face was pleasantly shaped, and her shoulders were nicely rounded. But what really got him were the eyes. The green, rich green eyes.
He couldn't help but feel he was staring at the woman, so he smiled at her.
"May I help you, miss?" He asked.
The woman held out her hand to him, which appeared a bit of a stretch, seeing as it was like she was standing on her toes.
"Hello, and welcome to Swann Industries Paper Printing. I'm Arenee, and you are?"
Gwirym took her hand and shook it.
"I'm Gwirym."
"Gwirym, what a very nice name! Is it Canadian?"
Gwirym laughed and stood up, making it easier on Arenee. "No, my name is not Canadian." He looked at her, and suddenly something twisted inside of him. It wasn't bad, like the feeling he got when he was in danger. It was better than that. Something he wasn't used to, and didn't feel ready for yet, but it was there. What was it? Admiration, he would call it. A strong admiration. And he left it at that.
