Synopsis: Working Title: Jericho

Five hundred years in the future, civilization never quite made it to the stars and beyond. The city of Samarra is home to perverted and corrupt democracy featuring an old boys' club of governors that pro-change newcomer Malcolm Mitchell can't seem to break into until he discovers a shocking secret about influential politician Charles Atwood. To Malcolm's horror, the more power he gathers on his meteoric rise through politics, the less he resembles his old, well-intentioned self.

Deciding that his situation in Samarra is beyond saving, Augustus Holloway takes his younger brothers with him on a journey out of the Shinarian region in search of the legendary city, Jericho. After a harrowing journey, Augustus and his fellow travelers take refuge in the ruins of a formerly great civilization. While living there, they unravel the clues to the fall of the global empire that led to this new, fractured world order.
