Synopsis: I, Runaway

A collection of novellas about runaways - How I met Jane, You & I, On The Other Side, The Left Behind. (in order of synopsis)
When Jane runs away from home, it's a huge shock for her sister and everyone who knew her. She was the last person you expected to go like that. Alex delves deeper into what made her sister make that choice. Meanwhile, Carla is completely smitten with new boyfriend Aaron, but once they make the decision to have sex, things take a turn in the opposite direction and Carla has nowhere to go. Jace, on the other hand, is near-forced out of his hometown and house by homophobia and racism. And mother of three Ella walks out on her family, hiding from her problems while her three children grow up without her and her husband tries to face the world without the woman he would have followed anywhere.

Excerpt: I, Runaway

She's gone.
She's missing.
I just took a peek in her room, and Jane wasn't there. She's probably just out at some party or something. She probably just slipped out. But that doesn't make sense. She's not grounded, and Mum would let her go to a party if she was invited. Maybe it was one with alcohol or something... but then she'd just lie and say she was sleeping over at a friends- that always worked for me, anyway.

Calm down, Alex. You're just panicking. Jane's probably just snuck out to some party or with a boy or something like you do all the time. And she'll kill you if you tell on her. Best to go back to bed. Get a drink of water and then check on her in the morning. Don't be a crappy sister.

It's seven AM. She must be back by now. Even I haven't been to a party that late. Unless you count that time I ended up drunk in the bathtub. And even that worked out OK.
So why am I so worried?
Something feels very wrong about this.
