He dropped his hand down to the device on his other wrist. The light blinked in a half-hearted manner. Which did nothing to allay his fears about it working. He scowled down at it and frowned. It remained unimpressed and continued the hesitating count. Blink. Pause. Blink. Pause... and for one moment he didn't think it was going to continue, but then there it was! Blink! He tapped the metal band and groaned silently. He couldn't believe he was going to depend on something that looked like it was on its last leg. Or rather, last blink.
