Prolougue
Hello. My name is Jayna Montague, and I am a lawyer. Actually, a wanna-be lawyer.
13 years ago, my family was killed in a tragic car accident. A drunk driver. I was at a friend's house to study for an exam, or I would have been killed too. The judge gave the murder 5 years, then paroled him after 6 months, even though the jury returned a verdict of guilty on 5 counts of 1st degree murder. It was then I made up my mind to become a lawyer, a politician, and a journalist. I would have my revenge. I was 15.
In the past 5 years I have become the journalist. I write and I write and I write. It is cathartic. I have a column in the New York Times, I sell freelance "investigative reporting" articles to various outlets, I have written 3 novels and published 1, and I have a blog that thousands of people read. I am weeks away from finishing my law degree at the college of William and Mary. I am on the staff of one of the most conservative and most hated us senators. By anyone's standards, I am a success. I do not yet have my revenge. This is my story.
