Synopsis: Ahead of Time
"What if" in the age of Steam many, many more doors were open than we knew? Follow a Steam Age adventurer through discovery, invention and a bit of romance.
Excerpt: Ahead of Time
Steam from the train clouded the station platform, made it difficult to see the passengers who disembarked quickly. One waited patiently for the steam to clear before descending from her private car. The advantages of wealth, education and a curious mind did not detract from the expectation of being treated as her noble rank demanded. Even if she were currently in 'the Colonies'.
She would be assisted by a team of movers to retrieve the luggage, while waiting for the new carriage she'd ordered to be awaiting her as close to the platform as possible. Her American solicitor would be on hand to escort her properly to the recently purchased house a comfortable carriage ride outside of the national capitol.
A final check of her fashion perfect travel attire in the gilt mirror when her solicitor arrives and she is now ready to finally leave the car. Of course the rest of the train has since moved on it's way, her private car will be stored in the train yard for her use as needed. Marquesas Margret Philomena Victoria Marie Marchmont was ready to embark on her next adventure.
