The waitress returned with coffee. She poured a cup and set it down in front of Ben. “I’ll be back to take your order.” She smiled at him and left.

“She likes you, man.” Jerry grinned at him. “What is it with you and women? You must have good pheromones or something.”

“Pheromones?” Ben sipped his coffee and winced. Not the best he’d ever had. In fact, it was close to the worst.

“Yeah, you know, those chemicals in your body that attract the opposite sex.”

“I know what pheremones are, Jerry. I just didn’t expect to hear you using such a word.”

Jerry leaned back in his chair and pulled out a large over-stuffed manila envelope. “Keep dissing the vocabulary, man, and you’re not getting the goods. I spent three days digging this up.” He set the envelope down and tapped it with his index finger. “And it’s juicy.”
