Synopsis: Moon Gazer
A charming, fantasy twist on the old fables 'Rabbit on the Moon' and 'Lady on the Moon'
Written for children, and for anyone who wants to 'feel the magic' again.
Excerpt: Moon Gazer
"In order for things to exist, they must first be believed in.
Magic is no different. Magic requires belief.
The very first time an animal spoke human words, it spoke them to a child. Who already believed that animals could talk. The very first time embers glowed, they grew from the palm of an old man. He already believed his hands had produced them.
It was not always as it is now. In my world, people will tell you that magic is in the Moon. All the magic in the world was banished there eons ago. Even if you say to another that you saw a rabbit in the Moon, they will not believe you. They stopped believing so many years ago.
Heroes and heroines of all kinds have vanished, crumbling like dust to the wind. Lost in time. Magic made them, and now magic only exists in dreams and legends.
That is a lie. Magic is still here. It never left. It has lived among us waiting for the right time. Waiting for people to believe again. Even in all the darkness in the world, belief can exist, and that is all magic needs. For there to be shadow, there first needs to be light.
Have you ever gazed at the Moon and seen something you thought impossible?
I have.
If I were to tell you, Young One, that there was once a Jade Rabbit on the Moon, and that she once gave creation to a small brown Hare, would you believe me?
If I told you that you could reach the Moon, touch the magic and see that Hare’s story, would you believe me? It is not impossible Young One. Believe.
All you need are wings to fly."
