Brief Author Bio: Born, raised, and still in Texas, Raquel grew up in an interesting environment, surrounded by ghosts and things that go bump even in daylight. Anything paranormal is actually normal for her, hence her penchant for writing SciFi and Paranormal romance stories filled with ultra-sensual passion. Besides a background in parapsychology, she also has a love of pirates & their lore, Astronomy, anything Egyptian, SCA, Ren faires, concocting interesting recipes, and chocolate martinis. She has a degree in Art emphasizing theater and design, and when not writing, teaching writing, or making appearances as her Renaissance character, she relaxes by designing and creating period costumes, ghost hunting (no kidding), and building robots and things. |

Excerpt: Steam In Moonlight
After the death of his entire family during the last battle of the great north American Civil War, Tejas born Ravyn Beckett had sworn to fight tyranny and injustice in the world. He just didn’t think it would be as a renegade mercenary. Standing on the bow of his airship, the Black Wing, he kept a watch on the lone golden hot air balloon hovering dangerously close to the ensuing battle. By her displayed blue and white colors, she was a reporting correspondent. Whoever was in it had to be insane.
