[OMG! I get to start us off this year? Excellent!]

So, oh great and wise world of NaNo, Why is it that every time I move the box of books on the floor out of the way I just kick it again the next time I pass by?

It is the law of Negative Moving, which states that if you move anything in order to avoid a negative effect, a negative effect precisely like the one you were trying to avoid will happen, adapted for the new location.

Example: you move a plate so it won't fall and break. The cup you placed on top falls and breaks.

Your brain is clearly an elaborate processing machine that turns notes into letters, chords into words, and songs into chapters.

It's sort of like a giant food processor between your ears and your fingers. And also sort of not.

Who, in fact, actually wrote The Book of Love?

It's the pixies, Alex. They flow from the music to your fingers and onto the page (or screen). If you look really, really closely, you can see them lurking there.

The space-time continum is distorted in November so in order to correct the distortion you must wait at least 1billion 9hundred and sixty-seven days before November actually occurs.

All characters, muses, and plotbunnies love caffeine. When you have some in your system, it attracts all these, and they tell you what to write.

I'll keep it simple, with "why is the sky blue?"

You left your phone in a phone booth where you stopped to try to gain entrance to the Ministry of Magic. Ironic, don't you think?

Why am I so easily distracted from what I'm supposed to be doing?

Because the things that are trying to get done are sending brainwaves in your direction. They don't really need to get done right away. Someone else will do them anyway if you don't do it, but they don't want to make you feel bad. Therefore, they just make you get distracted by shiny things.

Why am I on the forums when I have things to do?

You unconsciously donated it to a society of extremely shy, cold-footed gnomes. If you so much as think about them, they are too embarassed to accept the donation, though they need it, which is why you have to do it unconsciously. The only problem is, you don't remember doing it.

Barns are red do to them being apart of the level design of the world. People will be attracted by the color red since it stands out and are more likely to walk towards it. So in essence God is a level designer who wants you to walk by red barns, stop lights/signs, and grisly murder scenes.

The light hides whenever you flip the switch because it's afraid of the dark. They have a long, painful history together... something about light's school lunch money and dark being a bully.
