Hey, guys! I was wondering if anyone else here surfed PostSecret on a regular basis or read the books. For those who don't know what it is, it's a massive project where people write down their secrets--or otherwise illustrate them--on a postcard and send it in to be posted or published. It's a collaborative way of knowing that you're not alone, or just of getting things off your chest.
I'm kind of a dork, so I like making PostSecret cards for my characters. Sure, it'd be easy enough just to write them down, but I'd rather actually decorate the cards and whatnot the way the character might. I have quite the collection. (Me and two friends spent an entire evening making cards for all of our characters.)
Anyone else interested in making some and showing them off? I'll post mine as soon as I get them scanned, though I don't have them with me right now. If you do wanna post, you can tell which character's secret it is, or keep it anonymous, which is more in the spirit of it. Might be fun, too.
Let's get our characters to spill their guts!
Moderator note: Please don't post super-big images on this thread, if it's larger than 500 pixels wide or 400 pixels high, please post a link rather than the image itself. :) Thanks!

The idea for my nano novel this year acctually originates from one of the postsecret postcards, it's the one that reads: "everyone that knew me before 9/11 believes I'm dead". So I guess that's one character that I don't have do make a postcard for, right? :)
I love the idea, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing more postcards here! If I wasn't so damn busy trying to get my apartment in order before nano starts I would have made some myself, oh well... :)

Ooh...I need to do this...my main character is packed with secrets...there's a time in his life that I'm currently referring to as "the lost decade" because he doesn't talk about it at all...but it's where he's really turned into the person we meet in the story...hum...

So going to make this for my character. And I'm imagining the difference in the secret piles. Some of them just never say anything. XD

AWESOME forum!!! Even though only one secret has been posted. I'm thinking about making these secrets for both my main characters and two characters that exist in the past of the main characters.

This is mine for my character Dr. Anderson.
I guess to make more sense, I'll explain.
Dr. Anderson [antagonist] takes Sierra [protagonist] to her mental facility,
after Sierra witnessed her father's suicide.
Dr. Anderson makes it insanely obvious that she's gaga over Sierra.
But, the twist is that she has an extremely terrible past that resembles Sierra's,
her manager [antagonist] takes her into the facility & makes her his girlfriend.
While she's doing all these horrible experiments on these patients,
she's wondering if her life could ever be normal.
I could go on but I spoiled too much already. :x

Sometimes...I just wish I were a normal person.
You know? A normal girl, who would fall in love and couldn't read and liked ribbons and not be orphaned.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't a compulsive lier, constantly keeping secrets, hiding myself underneath layers of horror and past and misery and dirt and future.
Sometimes I wish you were here for me...

First, make your picture. Photoshop, GIMP, Paint, whatever you use. Then choose a site to upload it to. Photobucket, Tinypic, and Imageshack are popular picks. Then just use this HTML to link to your secret:
< img src="http://url/picture.jpgorgiforpng" >
Take out the space between < and img and png" and >. Voila!

This isn't from the NaNo I'm gonna work on, but this is from something that i am working on most diligently:
"Perhaps this book is to explain to you who I am, and who I'm not. Or maybe, what I am, and what I'm not. Or even, what I could be."
Something else that I'm working on terribly hard:
"I often wonder if I'm the good guy or the villain. I haven't tried to be bad, but at the same time I didn't try to be good either. But now that I am turning the tide, and I am going to be a hero, I wonder if it's too late. i have too many enemies - perhaps that's why I have so few friends."
