Author bio:

Hello to all my writer friends, old, new, and yet-to-be! I'm Adrianne, and this is my 5th NaNo season. I've also done 3 years of Script Frenzy and a Camp NaNo - that makes 5 novel drafts and 3 screenplays I've completed as part of a 30-day challenge!

I have a toddler and a husband, I work full-time and I also have a craft blog and an Etsy shop where I sell custom jewelry for my creative therapy. If ever I have down time (LOL) I like to fill it with DIY projects, fruity martinis, date nights, dancing and singing with my daughter, hot baths, reading, and the occasional full night's sleep. ;)

I have a last-minute change to my plan this November: forgive me... but I am going rebel this month. I will be working on two things:

1. A short story. Just one. It will not be 50,000 words. I do need my creative fix and a not-so-crazy amount of fiction is just the thing for it!

2. Before you cal me a slacker, my 50K... will be measured in pennies this November. Weird? Yeah, maybe.

I'm branching out as a professional freelance writer, and my goal is to earn $500 this month. This is a writing goal that's a healthy challenge, and truly fits my professional writing career. While I realize it's not the aim of National Novel Writing Month to NOT write a novel, it still has the core tenet that NaNo embraces - push yourself closer to your dreams by setting a lofty goal, and WRITE to achieve it.

Why am I doing this? Well, I normally juggle being a mom to a toddler, having a full-time job, posting daily to my blog, and hosting write-ins and organizing fun things as the ML for my region. I can work a novel into that - I did it last year and had crazy amounts of fun!! But this October unexpectedly added some additional duties I can't ignore, like managing my dad's estate, single-momming-it while my husband works in New York for 3 weeks, landing a second job as a staff writer for one of my favorite websites, and doctor's orders to take things easy. So some things on my to-do list had to go, and unfortunately, cranking out my 6th novel has to be one of them this November.

I'm still writing with you. :) I'm just writing this month my own way.

Feel free to add me as a writing buddy anyway, though - I love making new friends!
