I write a regular one page column in the 'Big Chili' and my work appears various other publications in the region. Quite a bit of fiction and creative non-fiction published in the UK and the US under several pen names. I've been really lucky this year in fact with 5 major publications and a big one coming out next year. Having said that, I've been writing for a long long time, most of it without any recognition whatsoever and the rudest rejections in the known universe to my credit.
I also run regular writing workshops of the more unusual kind - 'Writing from the Unconscious Mind'. (email@example.com) I developed these workshops because I feel that most writing workshops start way too late in the process. My question is very simple: here's an empty screen (or empty page), and an hour later there's a something on it. It was created in that one hour. Where did it come from?
My answer: from the unconscious mind. There is always an abundance of material in the unconscious mind, you just have to access it. And that's what my workshops focus on, and those are the methods I am teaching. Very successfully, judging from the fact that several novels and prize winning stories have come out of it - and that's just the participants writing! http://www.facebook.com/BKK.Writers.Workshops
One of the techniques I teach is how to get into the flow of writing. Nanowrimo, however, is the most majestic tool of all of them. For me, the first nano was a life changing experience, that's why I do it year after year.
I wrote quite a few first drafts for my novels through the last 6 nanos and hope to finish the Traitor, volume 1, this year.
Last but not least I am also the leader of the Bangkok Women's Writers Group, a peer group of female writers who have been meeting in Bangkok every second Tuesday for the last 11 years. (firstname.lastname@example.org).
if you are a female writer, please write to the above yahoo address and you can join our meetings any time.
