Author bio:

I'm a clinical therapist on an inpatient psych unit in Akron, Municipal Liaison for Canton, Ohio, an avid reader, poet, tea (and now coffee) drinker, comic book fan, blogger, hiker, weight loss success story, online media enthusiast, and quirky primate. I write the occasional book of poetry. I blog about mental health and tea in addition to lots of personal blogging. I sometimes wear glasses, I don't really like chocolate, and I'm getting much better at filtering my potty mouth.

My past Nanowrimo adventures:

2011 - The City with the Redhead Tattoo: Two people meet and fall in love in shared dreams, while spending their waking hours participating in a series of missed encounters, life's comedic mishaps, and a hopefully successful search for each other. (WIN!)

2010 - Teleporgasmic: Paranormal romance about a girl who sees what she thinks is a crime scene at REALLY inconvenient times during romantic interludes and later discovers love, a bakery, and a part-time dominatrix twin. (WIN!)

2009 - Starch Raving Mad: Android becomes contaminated with ketchup during his making and awake to find himself obsessed with finding french fries. Eventually commits suicide by french fry at the end of the book. (WIN!)

2008 - The Importance of Snacks: Tiny aliens land in a old woman's garden and have difficulty navigating her garden while she is plotting the murder of her neighbor. (FAIL.)

2007 - Sprinkling Ernest: Something about a guy in an urn named Ernest who narrates a story I have since forgotten. I know they all landed on a private island at the end. (WIN!)

2006 - The Education & Adventures of the Already Perished: A girl falls off a roof and lands herself in a pre-heaven/hell realm where she must enroll in classes and pass tests in order to figure out what comes next. I think she only really ended up yelling at a deity or two and having relations in a closet with a ghost. (WIN!)

2005 - Life 2.0 (The Reboot): A girl is recruited to interview the planet's citizens before the Higher Ups initiate an Earth upgrade. Hijinks ensued. (WIN!)

2004 - Highway Daffodils: Two women fall in love, but one of them has a boyfriend. Boyfriend frames the other woman for murder and she goes to prison, where the two carry on a long relationship through letters and journal entries, and eventually (when I ran out of story but still needed 5,000 words) a series of letters between their two cats. (MY FIRST WIN!)

2003 - Coma Journeys: This was a terrible attempt to write a novel about a woman in a coma who suddenly finds herself transported to various inanimate objects. It crashed and burned at about 30,000 words. (FAIL.)

2002 - Oh lordy. Let's not talk about that. (EPIC FAIL.)
