Author bio:

I love writing and reading stories. I was raised in a family that loves books. I have three children and I am doing my best to continue the love of literacy. When my daughter was 4 she brought back a literacy survey from her preschool. One of the questions was "How many children's books do you own?" I can't remember all the choices, but there was a choice for 50 books or more, which I simply circled. I'm glad they didn't make me count all the books. We have at LEAST 50 children's books, and they didn't ask about books that my husband and I have collected.

2012 is my sixth year of participation, second year as ML and I have three November wins under my belt as well as two wins from both the June and August sessions of Camp NaNoWriMo this year (that's already 100k words for the year!). I am ready to rock this party and have fun writing. Going after the 4th Nano-win in a row!
2011 is my fifth year (really?!) of participation. It's also my first year doing it as an ML. Hosting Thanksgiving, planning Girl Scout meetings and teaching religious ed and I don't see any reason why I can't kick at least 50k words out of my head for my series.
2010 is my fourth year of participation. I hit 50k+ words last year, so I know I can do this again!
2009 is my third year actually writing and participating. I can't find my word count from 2007. Last year though, I managed to get 9466 words, which is almost 20%. I'm increasing my goal bit by bit each year. I know I barely squeaked out 5k words last time, but that wasn't bad considering I didn't pick up a pen the first two weeks! And I hosted Thanksgiving dinner.

I have an 8.5 year old daughter who is breezing through 3rd grade. We'll have activities to attend for her through the month. My older son is 4.5 and will be fun to have climbing up the couch when I'm trying to work. On August 11, 2012, we welcomed my newborn son to the family-right in the middle of Camp Nano's August session. Plenty of distractions, but I think I can do this.

I'm proud to announce that as of Dec 1, 2009 Nano counted 66,572 of my words. Open Office counts 69k and I'm finally finished the story. I edited it with the help of some friends and at long last got my proof copy from CreateSpace. I finished writing a sequel to this novel in 2010 and have a proof copy from that too! I'm working on outlines as of October 2011. It's been excellent to finally win this thing twice now!
