Author bio:

I started doing NaNoWriMo years ago determined to finish the first draft even if that was more than 50,000 words. I've kept with that goal even when the first draft is more than 150,000 words.I often have the goal of writing 100,000 words, but the first draft will be what it wants to be. While I like an outline, my characters tend to be 'discovered' in the course of writing, and they like their air time once they finally get to come on-stage in November.

This year my goal is to finish the first draft of two novels. And to never have 200,000 words as a goal again. I've been told that I say that every year, but this time I really, really, really mean it. My hope is that if I do it this year, I never have to try to write quite that much again.

I've written two novels that occur at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. My 2008 and 2009 NaNoWriMo books are for sale at:

http://katherinelato.com/
and Amazon, and for the kindle. (Can find all versions at katherinelato.com )

After November, I can be found at critiquecircle.com where I'm known as KatWrite. (Everything gets cut in editing.)
