I first heard of NaNoWriMo in 2006 and deeply regretted sitting out of the fun as several friends wrote their way to 50k and beyond.

2007 convinced me writing without an outline is probably not right for me. (and that llamas are not actually the answer to every plot problem)

2008 showed me I could finish a novel (!!). (and that a beautiful ending I can't wait to write is the best way to keep me focused in my novel)

2009 suggested I am incapable of writing without dreams playing an important role in the plot. (and that songs will always find their way into my writing even though I am not a composer)

2010 introduced me to the wonderful madness of being a Municipal Liaison for NaNoWriMo. (and I wrote my murder mystery novel backwards in 15 days, why?... why not?)

2011 gifted me with a snazzy highlighter bright ML T-shirt for my second year of organizing happy madness. (and I wrote a retelling of the Phantom of the Opera)

2012 will be a NaNo rebel year as I finally finish my 2009 novel (it might not need quite another 50k but we'll see what the month brings)
