Author bio:

I'm currently one of the MLs for [USA :: Colorado :: Loveland], and also a former ML for [USA :: Colorado :: FortCollins].

I've been participating in NaNo since 2005. That first November, I had planned to piggy-back on NaNo in order to finish a previous manuscript. But, somehow, when midnight rolled around and the furious typing of local Wrimos began, I found myself writing a new novel, as well. I had no plan, but I managed to finish. Writing by the seat of my pants was so much fun, I didn't bother planning the next four novels either. It's always exciting to see where the story and characters take me.

Last year I was studying at Vancouver Film School. Instead of spending my November noveling, I was busy finishing a hand-drawn animated short (http://www.vimeo.com/19185725) and making a Flash-animated short (http://www.vimeo.com/19186147). (If these don't make sense to you, don't worry; like many of my novels, they're made in Esperanto, which is my second language.) What a rewarding (and eye-opening) experience! It's a very different process than noveling, and a very different type of story telling.

I participated in Script Frenzy during its first year, and completed a draft of a stage play. Now that I've been through film school, I'd like to try it again, but with a screenplay, instead.

Lately I've been freelancing by night, and job hunting by day. So, although slow-and-steady has usually won the race for me, perhaps I'll finish my novel early this year.
