You can get friends and family to sponsor your novel-writing month through Gifttool.com. All proceeds from sponsorships go to NaNoWriMo's parent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Office of Letters and Light, to pay for the Young Writers Program and adult main program.
Sponsored writers receive donor thank-you gifts from NaNoWriMo at your total, combined sponsorship level. Your sponsors get the satisfaction of knowing they've helped bring free creative writing programs to more than 1000 classrooms, 400 communities, and 75 libraries worldwide.

If I fundraise using GiftTool, when will I get my halo and donor goodies?
Since you'll be fundraising all throughout November, we'll send you your well-deserved donor goodies in early December. That way we can send you the gifts at the correct donor level. You're halo will appear in December as well. If you'd like your halo before then, please email tavia_stewart[at]lettersandlight[dot]org with your username.
Will the funds I raise through GiftTool count towards my regional total?
Unfortunately, the GiftTool site is not set up to update regional donation totals. It is a separate site that is not currently set up to "talk" to NaNoWriMo's site. If you'd like your donations to count towards your region, donate directly through our Donation Station and Store.
