Excerpt: Darkness of Twilight
Serina Mae Harris knew now that it had all been a mistake. She should never have let herself think so kindly about the monster that stood before her now. She was going to die, and no one would be any wiser for it.
He was a demon, she was sure of it. He had played her for a fool, and it was all her fault. She had allowed herself to be played, and had allowed herself to fall in love. Her heart was already shattered into a million pieces, and her soul would soon follow.
“What a waste,” the monster practically purred, his voice a silken velvet underlined with evil and a death waiting on his prey. “You were fun while you lasted, but you foolish girls now days. Always thinking you can change a lion to lay with a lamb. You’re nothing but a stupid sheep among the flock of humanity.”
Serina felt the tears streaming down her face, but there was nothing she could do to stop them. This was the end...
