Brief Author Bio:

It's been a horrible year. I lost my father, who was in many ways my twin in this life, and who I feel even now like a phantom limb. A guy whose brain just vibrated on the same frequency as mine. I still have not adjusted his departure. Not sure when I will.

He only ever wanted me to live a good life. And for him, that was family, a good attitude, and a stable job, but it was also about pursuing the sort of side projects he had always wanted to get around to himself, but put off until it was too late.

I've tried to do stuff like this before, but I think my experiences of the past year change things.

Last month I did an album in a month, with full arrangements. Put together drum tracks, bass lines, synth, guitars, everything. I loved the result, but I was so exhausted on October 31 that I decided to skip Nanowrimo.

It's November 21, I feel rested now. And I decided this morning to make a mad rush and try to do this even though I'm starting late.

I'm determined to write something upbeat, and twee, something with a happy ending. Because despite everything, I've really come to realize how much I have to be thankful for.
