Synopsis: The Mrs. Vinegar Tree

This story started out as a series of bedtime stories for my younger daughter. Aurelia serves as a maid in the house of Mrs. Vinegar, an ancient woman whose home is in a vast hollow tree. Although she looks like an old witch, Mrs. Vinegar plays hostess to a fascinating array of VIPs - heads of state, nobles and philosophers - all of whom manage to draw Aurelia into their stories.
