Synopsis: Hero of Hunker City

It seems like business as usual when Bekka is assigned to get a quick DNA sample from a murder suspect, but things start to go horribly wrong when she gets bitten by the perpetrator, who turns out to be a raving lunatic. He later warns at gunpoint that perhaps she should be more worried about herself than solving the case. Concerned about what he might have done to her, she gets herself checked out, but her doctor, who also happens to be her boyfriend, assures her that she’s fine. It isn’t until later when she gets a burst of adrenaline that she discovers that this particular adrenaline rush is more intense than any she has ever had, giving her almost super-human strength during the rush.

Even as she thinks about how she can use this new ability to her advantage at her job at the police force, she worries about the consequences of this new power. How much adrenaline can the body handle before it starts to fail? Will she go insane, like the perpetrator who gave her this strange disease? And will her boyfriend go mad scientist on her and turn her into a lab rat?
