Charlotte ate green peppers all day long. This irked Amanda to no end, the crunching of the green vegetables echoing mercilessly through their small living space in artsy uptown Minneapolis. The smell was no picnic either – Amanda was a fan of green peppers, and used them often in her cooking, but she thought it would be quite nice if she could hold a conversation with her roommate without being inundated with green-pepper-breath.

But other than that, Charlotte was a fantastic roommate, and they had been friends for years. Their relationship was one of balance - Amanda cooked the food, Charlotte ate the food. Amanda washed their clothes, Charlotte wore them.
